There will be a meeting regarding the Papergirl Bristol distribution tomorrow, Thursday 19th of May, at Cafe Kino on Stokes Croft, Bristol @ 7 pm.  Whoever wants to be involved in the distribution or even filming of the action, you are welcome to attend!  Bring your ideas!

Gosh it has been a bit of a busy time, but we are still here!  Just wanted to say a big, delayed, THANK YOU to everyone that came to the exhibition in early April.  There was a lot of response from you Bristol peeps!  We haven't handed the work out yet but assure you that May is the month in which it will happen.  If you would like to still get involved, drop us an email to papergirlbristol@gmail.com.

Hi guys!

It was our first day of exhibition-ing yesterday!!  We had a great response.  We are in a great location, so if you are Bristol based and want to check it out, we're set up at the Parlour, 31 College Green (the bottom of Park Street).  And we LUURRRVVVEEE company!

Here are some photos of our setting up process...over the course of the week we'll take more, as more work keeps being sent!!

Exhibition.

Come to the 1st EVER Papergirl Bristol exhibition of all the work that has been collected over the past couple of months from various artists! Come have a look before they get rolled up and distributed as "art missiles"!

The Parlour, 31 College Green, will be our space from the 5th till the 13th of April, 2011.

Opening times: 1-7 pm

Also, we will be having a teeny tiny party on Friday the 8th, from 6 till 8 with a bit of mooosaaaac...so come, and share some biscuits and wine with us.

There might even be an opportunity to make and wear party hats!!

Wow.

This large scale wall painted stop motion animation of the beginning and the evolution of life, by graffiti artist BLU, is absolutely stunning.  Worth the whole 10 minutes of watching it!!  Still gobsmacked!

The Papergirl of the Skies!!

They filled a balloon with helium!  Attached to the balloon were 100 paper planes that each had a memory card attached, with messages from all over the world!  So the helium balloon went all the way up into space, the video footage of the paper planes being released is BEAUTIFUL.

Sooooooo, all you Papergirl Peeps.

We are back and hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas Fest and a good start into the new year 2011!  Let's make 2011 a creative one, our mailbox is open.  Get involved!!  To make this a good first round of Papergirl Bristol, we need as much help and motivation as possible.  What you can do is let people know that we exist, and send some work in, we accept all art with open arms!!

First Submissions!

We've received our first submissions!!!  Get inspired!!  Start creating!!  Start sending!!

Flyering.

We had our FIRST flyering mission down by the Old Duke last night.  Met lots of interested folk, which is very good.  The flyers disappeared quickly so we are currently printing off more, in preparation for the next batch to hand out!!!!  DEAD EXCITING!!!!

Boneshaker Magazine.

In this month's Boneshaker Magazine there is an article about Papergirl with details about our very own Papergirl here in Bristol.  And in a couple of weeks time they will have a Boneshaker and Bristol Bike Project artwork exhibition in the shop space at Hamilton House.
